The people are surperb! The only thing that out-shines them is their food. |

Big Heng may not look like much from the outside - it's in an old mini-stripmall with a laundromat and a pawn shop. The decor inside is basic, but most importantly, it is very clean. Don't let Big Heng's surroundings fool you! Big Heng is exactly the kind of restaurant I've been searching for for years in Phoenix! The food and service are top-notch! I don't know how they do it, especially because the prices are unbelievably reasonable, especially at lunch ($5.00 for a shrimp dish with rice, soup, and egg roll?!) Portion size is huge - I always leave with leftovers. The quality of the food is excellent. Big Heng uses fresh veggies and white meat chicken. As a fan of shrimp, I appreciate the fact that they don't skimp on the shrimp as so many other places do! The sauces at Big Heng are thick and flavorful, not thin and bland like at so many other Chinese places in the Valley. The service at Big Heng cannot be beat! I've often had my food in less than 5 minutes! And I assure you it was NOT microwaved! The staff is extremely friendly and efficient, all working together as a tightly-knit team. My only complaint about Big Heng? That their only location is in Peoria and I live in Tempe! |
