I have been going to the various Peking locations around Richmond, the Shockoe Slip, West Broad, and Grove Avenue locations for many years so I was more than happy to find one closeby when I moved to Mechanicsville. As always, the food is the standard by which Chinese meals in Richmond are judged. So far, we have indulged on the crispy prawns with orange peel, Moo Shu Pork, shrimp with lobster sauce, sweet and sour and lo mein dishes, and the crunchy spring rolls. All as good as any Chinese restaurant anywhere, not just central Virginia. The soups are good, hot and delicious too. Don't be afraid to try the spicy hot and sour, it's the best less traveled dish around. I hope this location will add the decadent shrimp with walnuts other locations have offered. Even the mints here are better than most other restaurants. One of my most frequented, dine in or take out |
